This project explores how a fleeting moment in nature can be translated into an interior environment.
Inspired by the movement, color, and layering of leaves in autumn, the design sought to capture the atmosphere of a landscape in transition. Rather than applying seasonal motifs directly, the project developed a spatial language drawn from the patterns, textures, and rhythms found within the autumn landscape.
The concept informed every scale of the design. Custom rugs abstracted the accumulation and movement of fallen leaves across the ground plane, while lighting elements drew inspiration from their delicate forms and changing silhouettes. Sculpted metal leaves were developed through a series of studies and prototypes, informing the design of table lamps and a bespoke chandelier. Material explorations, sketches, technical drawings, and mock-ups formed an integral part of the process, allowing natural observations to evolve into buildable design elements.
The project demonstrates an approach to design in which atmosphere emerges through the careful translation of an idea across multiple mediums, from concept sketches and material studies to furniture, lighting, and interior architecture.
